Who We Are & What We Care About

We are a group of 8th students who believe that all animals deserve a happy home. Every year millions of animals across the United States are rescued from abandonment, neglect, and abuse and animal shelters are struggling to keep up. Our mission is to raise awareness about the importance of supporting animal shelters. We want to inspire people to act, whether that’s donating or volunteering.

The animals need our help

According to The Zebra, Best Friends Animal Society, somewhere between 4.6 million and 6 million dogs and cats pass through the animal shelters each year, however only 5. 1 million shelter animals are adopted which means that around 920,000 dogs and cats are euthanized. Shelters are at maximum capacity and the only way to help save the lives of these innocent animals is to donate resources and time to struggling refuge centers.

Our Mission

Our mission is to independently raise as much money as possible to donate to SPCA Westchester.

SPCA Westchester is one of the oldest humane societies in the country. It was founded in 1883 by a woman named Mary Dusenberry after she witnessed horses being abused while working. With help from her friends, Mrs. Dusenberry acquired land in Briarcliff Manor and built the Society’s first shelter. She also created a fund to be prevent cruelty to animals.

The reason why we chose SPCA Westchester is because it is an independent organization and does NOT receive funding from any national animal welfare organizations. Originally it was connected to the ASPCA, became independent in the 1920’s.

In present day, the SPCA helps more than 5,500 animals every year and is the largest No-Kill Rescue Center in Westchester County.

Angel

Angel is sweet female terrier rescued from the street in South Carolina and eager to show you how resilient she is. Already walking nicely on leash and sitting on cue, she’s just waiting to bond with you.
Canela

Sweet Canela is a 4 year old female husky/aussie mix who can’t wait to be part of your family. She is friendly, smart, housetrained, stunningly beautiful, and eager to be friends.
Patrina

Patrina is a 2-year-old black and white cat with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. This sweet momma recently raised a litter of seven kittens—and now that her babies have been adopted, it’s Patrina’s turn to find he forever home.
Gemma

Gemma is a 4 year old girl filled with wonder. She’s the perfect blend of sugar and spice with a heart full of love and affection. She can’t wait to become a part of your family.
Jagger

Meet Jagger. Once he knows you, Jagger is playful and fun, and will be your best friend. He loves to run around and dazzle everyone with his joyful energy.
Frankee

Frankee is a sweet natured male puppy who is affectionate, playful, and curious. He can’t wait to snuggle up next to you after a long day and will quickly become your best friend.
